Competition Rules

The following terms and condition are set out for participants in the competition to win a Toyota iQ as advertised on www.dontstopbelieving.org.uk (the "Website") to raise money for The Teen Cancer Trust. The competition is being run by Archie MacLean and Ross MacLean, Border Toyota, St Boswells Garage, Melrose, TD6 0EW (the "Promoter"). By entering the competition entrants will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and be bound by them.

  1. This competition is open to UK residents only and will run from 9th April 2010 until Friday 29th October 2010.
  1. All participants must 18 years of age or over.
  1. Your personal details will only be used for the purposes of administering this competition, and the Promoter will not publish them or provide them to anyone without your permission. All personal data will be processed in accordance with UK Data Protection Law and the privacy policy on the Website: www.dontstopbelieving.org.uk
  1. Entrants must provide the information indicated, answer the question on the website and supply the £5 entry fee. Entrants may receive a message confirming their entry to the competition. The winner will be chosen by the computer at random from those valid entrants who answer the question correctly.

    Entries are to be submitted online through the Website with payment made through a PayPal account or by paper entry addressed to Archie MacLean, Border Toyota, St Boswells Garage, Melrose, TD6 0EW accompanied with a cheque for £5 made out to "The Teenage Cancer Trust"
  1. The deadline for receiving entries for the competition is 17.00 GMT on Friday 29th October 2010. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to the internet or e-mail or postal services. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
  1. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any incorrectly addresses or undelivered entries or for any disruption, delay or misdirection of e-mail entries. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries which may include any entries which are incomplete, incorrect or not received by the Promoter.
  1. In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the correctness or acceptability of any answers given by the entrants, or the operation of any part of the competition the decision of the Promoter shall be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. If for any reason the advertised prize is unavailable the Promoter reserves the right at his absolute discretion to substitute a similar prize or equivalent or greater value.
  1. Entrants should have sufficient funds to meet any and all incurred costs over and above the prize. In particular, of the car from Border Toyota, St Boswells Garage, Melrose, TD6 0EW, insurances, taxes etc, are the responsibility of the prize winner. The prize winner will be required to secure all necessary insurance and road tax etc.
  1. The prize is non-transferable and non-negotiable and no cash alternatives will be offered.
  1. The prize will be available within 30 days from the closing date of the competition and must be taken on dates to be agreed with the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to include a final date by which the prize must be taken and in any event the prize must be taken within one year of the date of the competition draw.
  1. The winner will be contacted personally by e-mail or by a recorded delivery letter and receive further details about the prize from the Promoter.
  1. The winner will have a specified fixed time period in which to claim his or her prize. Failure to respond within the fixed time period as specified and/or provide and address from delivery if the prize may result in forfeiture of the prize.
  1. Prizes unclaimed will be deemed to have been forfeited and the Promoter reserves the right to either offer the prize to the entrants whose name is next drawn at random, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition on the Website.
  1. Result will be announced on the Website.
  1. Entrants are liable for their cost to access computer networks and for any postage.
  1. The Promoter reserves the absolute right to disqualify any entrant which it considers has used improper technical means to enter.
  1. This competition is not open to any person directly or indirectly involved in the runningof the competition, or their direct family member.
  1. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control. If this competition is cancelled, entrants will be entitled to a refund of their entry fee.

  2. The Promoter may refuse to provide a prize, or seek its recovery, in the event of non-entitlement under these Rules or an entrant’s breach of these Rules, fraud or dishonesty.
  1. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to withhold delivery of the prize until such proof of eligibility and identity had been confirmed or to disqualify the entrants from the competition.
  1. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the winner’s use of the prize.
  1. The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that neither the Website nor the materials contain or promulgate any viruses or other malicious code. However, it is recommended that you should virus check all materials downloaded from the Website and regularly check your computer for the presence of viruses and other malicious code.
  1. These Rules are governed by the laws of Scotland and the courts in Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising.
